Fate of the Defenders

Somewhere in New York, as the Infinity War raged in Wakanda, the Defenders prepared to battle the criminals of New York in yet another awesome hallway fight scene. Matt Murdock, Daredevil, the Man Without Fear. Luke Cage, Hero for Hire. Jessica Jones, PI. And Danny Rand, the Immortal Iron Fist.

The team, the friends, stood poised for battle. And just then, Thanos snapped his fingers.

The first to notice something was off was Luke Cage. He hardly had the chance to warn his team, however, as he was the first one to fade to dust. Matt panicked, unable to sense his friend anymore. Danny and Jessica called out for him in confusion. 

Jessica, always the sensible one, tried to regroup, but Danny suddenly felt the Iron Fist, calling him to return to K’un-Lun. That is when he too faded away. Jessica was beginning to lose it, when suddenly Matt complained that he didn’t feel too good.

Jessica pleaded with Murdock not to go. But as she held him in her arms, he apologized to his friend, and flaked to dust. Alone, confused, and afraid, Jessica fell apart, weeping on the floor, questioning where to go from here. That is when she was approached by Frank Castle, The Punisher, who demanded she get to her feet, claiming that they were the only ones left.
