Falcon Vs. The World
Sam arrives at Black Widow and Hakeye’s coordinates to find that they have been taken captive by the Master of Evil. Baron Zemo, Blizard, Titanium Man, Bulldozer, and Grim Reaper, all led by the mysterious new monarch of Sokovia turned Latveria, Doctor Doom. This is the first encounter the Avengers have with Doom. Through Redwing’s surveillance, Sam discovers that Doom captured Widow and Hawkeye to ransom them back to the Avengers in return for something in Tony Stark’s possession. Doom was confident the Avengers’ weak wills would cause them to comply with his demands, despite Zemo’s insistence on killing them immediately.
Taking down the roof patrol, Sam begins to game plan when Black Widow suddenly breaks free and fights back against the Masters! Hawkeye is still restrained, but Falcon soars into action. His brief heroic entrance is abruptly interrupted by Bulldozer, who manages to keep Falcon cornered for the remainder of the fight. Black Widow takes the Master of Evil down one by one, Blizzard, Titanium Man, Grim Reaper, even Zemo. One after the next, as Falcon and Hawkeye struggle with their predicaments. Falcon eventually uses Redwing to stop Bulldozer, but by this point, Doom utters a declarative command: Enough.
With one attack, Doom takes down everyone in the room. He approaches Widow, stating that perhaps Zemo was right. Before he can destroy her, Hawkeye breaks free and fires a smoke arrow, creating enough of a diversion for Falcon to get visual in his goggles and extract the two Avengers.
Doom commends the Avengers for their strategy, but assures them this is only the beginning, and that in the end, there will be only Doom.
