Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 10: The Superior Spider-Man
The last Web-Warriors candidate is one that calls himself the Superior Spider-Man. But he has a sinister secret, that threatens the every last hero in the Spider-Verse.
Well True Believers, that was it! The finale to Spider-Man: Web-Warriors! A journey that was born from you guys wanting to see adventures with more heroes from across the Spider-Verse. That’s right, Web-Warriors was only a thing because of the fans. And I am grateful, because I’ve honestly had a lot of fun making these videos.
Now, it’s no secret that I can’t stand the Superior Spider-Man. Like, at all. Doc Ock traipsing around in and committing unspeakable acts in Spider-Man’s body was enough to make me almost stop reading comics! (It’s true!) But I know that there are a ton of Superior fans out there, and no shortage of them frequent my channel. So I made sure to do the character justice in my video, and I hope you all saw it that way.
Talent
Thank you, as always, to Eileen Nestman for providing her endless talent to Gwen Stacy’s voice, our one and only Ghost-Spider! Make sure to throw her a sub on her YouTube channel!
Also, that epic version of Gwen’s Across the Spider-Verse theme you heard when she shows up is the doing of YouTuber Krutikov Music! Spot him a sub too on YouTube.
Now then, I shoved a whole bunch of Easter Eggs in here, as usual, so let’s get into it, shall we?
Easter Eggs
Life Story
The story of this episode revolves around Octavius trying to transfer bodies from Peter to Miles. This was inspired by the final issue of Spider-Man: Life Story by Chip Zdarsky. In this issue, Otto put himself in cryogenic stasis and took over Miles’ body, attempting to fool an older Peter Parker. But a few things here and there gave Otto up and Peter was able to save Miles.
Avengers Academy
Years ago, there was a mobile game called Avengers Academy. It was a fun little game where you unlocked heroes and villains from all over the Marvel Universe and set them to tasks for certain amounts of time (Captain America did the Charleston for 8 hours. 8. Hours.) One of the villains they eventually added was Doc Ock himself, who did have a Superior Spider-Man alternate costume. This is the version of Doc Ock I patterned my voice for Superior Spider-Man after, and I even borrowed my favorite line of his from the game: “Don’t speak. You’re embarrassing yourself.” Listen to it below!
Battle on Avengers Tower
Superior Spider-Man’s recount of how he took Peter Parker’s body is basically shot for shot from Amazing Spider-Man #700 (a comic I swore back in 2012 I’d never read again… oh, the things I do for my fans!) Peter teamed up with Scorpion and Hydro-Man to battle Octavius in Avengers Tower and get his body back. It ended with them falling, Peter’s repurposed Octobot failing, and Doc Ock emerging victorious, as the Superior Spider-Man. Some pictures, you’ll notice are nearly exact recreations of comic panels.
Improving Peter’s Life
Superior Spider-Man mentions making improvements to Peter’s life, which was technically true. He went back to school and got Peter’s PhD. He also started Parker Industries, a company Peter took over when he got his body back. Unfortunately, Peter’s PhD got revoked when it was discovered that he ‘plagiarized’ the work of Otto Octavius and Parker Industries basically imploded. Because what does a nerdy kid from Queens know about running a company! So, yeah, none of that lasted too long, good old Parker Luck.
Doc Ock-isms
Doc had a colorful and very super villain-y vocabulary that he couldn’t help but carry over into his career as Superior Spider-Man. That includes saying things such as “Victory is mine!” and calling people “Dolt!” One line I also took word for word is “I’ve studied him for years. I know everything there is to know about Spider-Man.” You know what they say, you can take the tentacles off of the Doc, but… yada, yada, yada.
Be The Superior Spider-Man!
Are you a fan of Superior Spider-Man? I have… no idea why… but since you are, you may as well let everyone know it! I’ve got some superior new merch just for you in the merch shop! A new T-Shirt, a mug, and a poster, all showcasing the Superior Spider-Man, and the villain he once was! Go Thwip your merch now, and remember, that automatically enters you for a chance to with Marvel Legends Spider-Man Now Way 3-Pack!
So there you have it. That’s it for Web-Warriors! Or… is it? People always ask in my comments if Ultimate Spider-Man’s coming back, will we see the 90’s Spider-Man again, will Kaine ever return? And I always reply the same way: You haven’t seen the last of the Web-Warriors! I mean… you saw the end of this episode right? With Superior Spider-Man… and the computer… and the “Intriguing” line, while playing the Sinister Six theme from the Spider-Man game, after telling Miles he didn’t know how to properly convince people to join a cause? I think I hammered it home pretty hard. Just saying.
But for now, that’s all! So go back and enjoy all 10 episodes of Spider-Hero action, and look forward to more from Face Front in the Spider-Verse, and the Marvel Universe at large! Thank you all for coming along on this Web-Warriors journey with me. Again, without my fans, this series wouldn’t even exist. So thank you. Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition PS5
My setup just got a major upgrade! True Believers everywhere, I present to you the Limited Edition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5! I’ve taken several pictures, so let’s get into it!
Here’s the console itself and the controller, with the Symbiote creeping in on the now-iconic white spider symbol.
This is the back side of the console, where Spider-Man has given in to the power of the Symbiote!
The front of the box, showcasing Peter and Miles from the game’s box art.
The back of the box, with the concept art of both Spider-Man facing down with (the honestly pretty terrifying) Venom!
The DualSense controller, with the Symbiote once again taking over, as well as the side of the box.
Here it is with both of the Marvel Legends and the Free Comic Book Day Prequel Comic.
And here it is next to the Marvel’s Spider-Man Limited Edition PS4 Pro.
Check out my new setup, including both of the Marvel Legends, and my copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales signed by Nadji Jeter, the voice of Miles!
I can’t wait for October 20th True Believers! This console is so cool, and I’m gonna have a blast playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on it! Let me know if you got the console, or the controller or the plates, down below! That’s it for now, Face Front True Believers and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
I Met Miles Morales!
Well, I met the voice of Miles Morales. Nadji Jeter, who voices Miles in both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, was at the Game On Expo in Phoenix this past weekend.
He’s also done Miles in the 2017 Spider-Man show, a few other games (including Ultimate Alliance 3) and will voice him once more in the upcoming and highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! And I got to meet him!
That’s me, with him. He’s obviously the one that actually looks cool. I told him that I’ve been watching him since back in the 2017 show and that he’s the voice I hear when I read Miles comics. I mean, no disrespect to Shamiek Moore, but Nadji’s been on Miles longer and more often, so I’ve had more exposure to his version of the character. He seemed very appreciative of my praise!
That’s not all though, Marvelites! I had him sign the front of my copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales! The art side, because that looks cooler. And then, unprovoked, he said “Lemme see your phone!” And signed my phone case too! I mean, I can never use it again because I have to preserve it now, but I needed a new case anyways!
After that he had a panel at the expo with Daisuke Tsuji, the voice of Jin from Ghosts of Tsushima. I let them know I did voice acting on my channel and asked how to improve (because I’m always looking for ways to make the vids better for you guys!) I explained that I sometimes struggle with consistency, and I’ll have a perfect take and then another that’s trash.
Daisuke told me that voice acting is just a form of acting, so to improve my base acting skills will also improve my VO skills. Nadji said he was gonna blow my mind, then told me that sometimes the trash takes are the ticket! He said there were takes he did that he thought sucked but everyone outside of the booth loved. He said not to be so hard on myself and to keep going!
There were a lot of interesting facts revealed on the panel. The first scans for Miles were done in Serbia!? Nadji is currently listening to the same thing I am, Metro Boomin’s Spider-Verse soundtrack. He kept saying they got something real good coming for us on October 20th (the release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2). He’s really excited about that. His favorite character to voice is Miles. His favorite character in his game was Phin. His favorite scene from the first game was when Spider-Man taught Miles how to fight. And the hardest scene for him to do was after Jefferson Davis died in the first game, because he had to act out being sad about the death of his father, but unfortunately Nadji never had that father figure. So instead he thought about his (thankfully still alive) uncle.
I had so much fun, and I’m so glad I got to meet him, get his autograph (twice) and hear about stories from his voice acting adventures as Miles Morales! I can’t wait to see what he’s so excited about in the next game! Can it be October yet!? That’s it for now, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 SDCC Panel
Insomniac just did their Symbiotic Relationships San Diego Comic-Con panel and, boy, was it a success.
Okay, so first, can we talk about this trailer?
Because, wow. This game looks massive. In size, scope, just big. A few things, in no particular order:
– Who knew Martin Li was coming back? Because I sure as shock didn’t!
– Venom looks completely terrifying. Tony Todd and the design definitely help with that.
– Miles and MJ rocking fresh new cuts. Miles looking 92+8, and MJ favoring her comic counterpart a little more with the gorgeous flowing red hair (as many of you may know, I’m an MJ guy, leave me alone and let me have this!)
– Did you catch those Coney Island ride names? Hydro Bench (Hydro Man’s real name is Morris Bench), Speed Demon, and Big Wheel!
– The scene where both Spider-Men flip off the roof and start swinging… like, dude, just take my money already.
– So is that Grizzly, or just a bear-themed Kraven goon? Because it’d be pretty cool if it was Grizzly.
– I think I saw Wraith. I don’t know, did you guys see Wraith? Standing menacingly in front of the fire at around 1:07?
– Lizard’s sonic scream was definitely affecting the Symbiote, so they’re keeping sound as a weakness.
– MJ hiding from Symbiote Spider-Man… just… dang. Is it that bad?
– I have a bad feeling about Harry…
They don’t need to do anymore marketing. I’m sold. Like I said, take my money!
Oh, and speaking of taking money, they announced a limited edition PS5! With a controller, launching September 1, check it:
THANKFULLY, they are also selling the plates and controller separately, so I don’t have to buy an entirely new PlayStation just because they put a Spider-Man logo on it… again…
They confirmed some things on the panel. This is 9-10 months after Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Peter and Miles have their thing down to a science. Peter is trying to balance a new job and keep May’s house from foreclosing. MJ’s job is on the line because JJJ is back at the Bugle and cleaning house. Miles is procrastinating on college prep because he wants to do more Spider-Man. Stuff established in the prequel comic basically.
They also said that this is a human story about a man giving in to the darkness and what that does to his friends and family. Like the old Spider-Man 3 teaser trailer adage, “How long can any man fight the darkness before he finds it in himself.” Truly great stuff. I’m still very concerned about that shot of MJ hiding from Peter. I mean… they said this joint was going to be dark, but dang.
Tony Todd was very excited. Especially about the Collector’s Edition statue. Yuri Lowenthal did the Bully Maguire dance. Nadji Jeter is a professional hype man. They all love each other and I’m here for it. Be Greater. Together.
The long and short of it, I’m excited, and I wish I could play it now. But what did you guys think? Let me know down below! Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
Prepare for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!
Hey there True Believers! Are you about to go watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse? Or maybe you already did, but want some more Spidey action? Face Front’s got you taken care of!
Below you’ll find a Face Front viewing list to either go into the movie with the knowledge of a pro, or get that extra dose of Thwip-ery you’ve been craving since the credits rolled!
1. Gwen’s Origin
Gwen Stacy, aka Spider-Gwen, aka Spider-Woman, aka Ghost-Spider (that’s a lot of aliases there, Gwen) has an even bigger role in this movie than she did in the first one. Lucky for you, Brigadier, the Face Front Original Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 6: The Ghost, lets you know everything you need to know about Gwen’s beginnings as a Spider hero in the Spider-Verse!
2. Spider-Punk’s Origin
So you all have definitely seen the punk Spider-Man with the spiky head and the guitar. But do you actually know Hobie Brown? Even after leaving the theater, there’s still a bit to be desired about this character’s origin. Well, good ‘ol Face Front’s got you covered with Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 5: Spider-Punk! Discover Hobie Brown’s origin, and how he became the one and only… Spider-Punk!
3. Miles and his Family
As the main character of the movie, Miles Morales gets the most play on screen. But Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 9: Leap of Faith, will remind you why you love the character, and how far he’ll go to protect his family! Trust me, Miles’ relationships, familial and otherwise, are a key part of this new flick!
4. The History of Miles Morales
Miles is the hottest Spider-Man right now! But where did he come from? How long has he been around? What role did actor/rapper/comedian Donald Glover play in his creation? Well, with Donald Glover being a close personal friend of mine (talking to him once 12 years ago qualifies, right?), I asked him myself! And you can get that answer in The Night I Met Donald Glover: A Miles Morales Story! After all, if you love the Spider-Verse movies, and you love Miles, then I know you’ll appreciate his origin story, off the page, as it were.
And there you have it fellas! I hope that you are now walking into Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as a pro, or that I’ve scratched that itchy spider bite for ya! Either way, hope you enjoyed this little viewing guide, keep it on Face Front for more stuff like this! That’s all for now, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Spider-Verse!
Saved by Greed! How I Almost Doomed My YouTube Channel!
I know what you’re thinking, the title is crazy! How did greed save me? And how was my entire YouTube channel almost doomed? Well, True Believers, sit down and let me tell you the story!
There I was, working innocently on Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 9: Leap of Faith (Available Now!), filming the fight at the Super Collider between Peter, Miles, and Prowler. This was the first thing I filmed for this episode, mind you. I get to the part where Miles hits Prowler with his Venom blast, and I’m thinking I’ll creative. Dangerous thought, True Believers!
I took the Widow Bite effect from the Black Widow deluxe figure because I thought it would look like Miles’ Venom Blast around his hand. It did, but it wasn’t fitting on there quite right. So, like any sane person that takes care of their collectibles, I forced his fist into the socket through the Widow effect!
After the (perfect) shot, I removed Miles’ fist, as I have done a million times before, but this time, the fist was pulled free of the loop connecting it to the peg! For those who aren’t familiar with Marvel Legends, let me explain. The hand is connected to a peg that inserts into the arm of the figure. But the hand and peg are connected with a loop on the end of the peg that goes into a little rod on the wrist, allowing wrist movement for the figure. This break has only happened to one other figure in my collection, Gwenpool, as demonstrated in the pic below.
What happens is the rod at on the wrist breaks on one end and the loop slides out. What you have to do to fix it is kind of pull the wrist and the rod apart and get the loop back in. Two problems with that though: Firstly, I’m a nearly 30-year-old man with big clompy hands, and these parts are tiny. Like, TINY! It is very, very difficult to re-loop that peg. And secondly, once it’s broken like that, that’s it. Because every time you want to switch hands (which I do often in my videos), the wrist is gonna pull out of the peg and you have to go through the tedious reconnecting process again.
So, I was understandably frustrated, because I still had the entire dang video to shoot, and Miles was the star of this one. So I (painstakingly) got the loop rethreaded and stuck his fist back in. I got as many scenes shot as I could before I had to swap hands again. Inevitably, the time had come. But when I tried, the unthinkable happened! The loop pulled the whole dang rod off of the wrist!
I was done for. Any fix I thought of wasn’t feasible. The rod, completely separated, was sooo tiny (I almost lost it, like, ten times). Handling it was dang-near impossible. I didn’t want to super glue it back in because then I’d lose the wrist articulation. So my only option was to get a new fist.
Now, finding a specific part for a Marvel Legends figure can either be very, very easy, or very, very difficult. The left fist of an out-of-circulation Miles Morales figure that’s not cheap on the aftermarket leans toward the latter. I reached out to my Marvel Legends Facebook groups. No bites. I saw one sales post with a bunch of fodder pieces and asked if he had what I needed. And he did… not. He had Miles’ right fist. Like, really universe? What did I actually do to you?
Ebay was useless, they gave me results for every Miles Morales thing except what I was looking for. In desperation, I turned to Mercari. I was hoping, praying I could find something! I searched “Marvel Legends Miles Morales” and scrolled until I came across the seller that saved me: A man named Greed.
He sells Marvel Legends parts and pieces, and I came across a post that had both of Miles’ web-slinging hands… and his left fist! Overjoyed, I purchased it immediately! Greed shipped fast and within two days, I was able to continue production on episode 9! So please, if you’re in the need for a part, piece, or parcel, make Greed’s shop your first stop!
My YouTube channel was nearly doomed! With Return to the Spider-Verse being my most popular content, and Episode 9 being hotly anticipated, postponing it indefinitely was simply not an option! My fans would have revolted! Unsubscribed en masse! I’m sure of it! Okay, maybe not, you guys are great, but honestly, I had been hyping Episode 9 as being close to finished, building anticipation. It would have really sucked if I had to come out with an apology video and asked you guys to wait EVEN LONGER for the next episode.
So that’s the story guys, Greed saved my YouTube channel, and by extension, Face Front! You all can thank him for Episode 9! Again, Click Here to visit his shop if you need replacement pieces for your Marvel Legends. And Click Here to check out Episode 9! That’s it for now, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 9: Leap of Faith
To stop the Master Planner, Spidey and Miles Morales team up to track down his Uncle Aaron, aka the Prowler. But things are about to get a lot more complicated once they find him!
First of all, a big shout out to Sara Pezel, who returned to voice Black Cat once again! We first heard her amazing voice work back in Episode 3, and I was very grateful that she was more than happy to come back. Everyone go ahead and give her a follow on Twitter @sarapezel! You know, if Twitter is still alive when you read this lol.
And of course, as always Eileen Nestman provided Gwen with her voice, I once again used several of the handcrafted sets and props she mad for me! Check her out on YouTube or follow her on Instagram!
And now, you know what time it is: Easter Egg time! That’s right, I really packed ’em in on this one, so let’s get to it!
The Puma
Yes, there is a walking, talking Puma that happens to be a Spider-Man villain. He’s a mercenary for hire who’s bite is definitely worse than his bark!
Comic Text
One unique aspect of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the feeling that a comic book came to life on the screen, which was evident with the big “LOOK OUT” when Miles’ Spider-Sense first went off, or the “Play Dumb” captions, both of which I decided to incorporate.
Mister Criminal
You guys remember Spider-Man: Homecoming, right? Where Donald Glover played Aaron Davis, aka the Prowler! And mentioned he had a nephew? Yep, Miles in the MCU! That was also the scene where Spidey used interrogation mode, which happened almost word for word in the video. Prowler being a variant and all, it’s no surprise that Spidey had the same result.
Odessa Drake and the Thieves Guild
A more recent addition to the Spider-Man mythos, Odessa Drake is the fearless leader of the New York division of the Thieves Guild. They steal stuff. Like, a lot of stuff. I thought it’d be fun to name drop her, and maybe save her for a future appearance! (Hear that Hasbro? We need an Odessa Drake figure!)
Brooklyn 42
During Felicia’s plan (Which is in the form of a comic book, like Peter B’s plan to break into Alchemax from the film) the authenticator says the code is 42 in this hypothetical situation. Fans know that 42 is the number on the back of the spider that bit Miles in the movie and the comics!
Also during Felicia’s plan, if you listen closely you’ll hear Miles shout “Brooklyn” Like he did in the film, and Spidey says “Hey everyone” like in Captain America: Civil War!
Not a Problem
Black Cat mentions that seducing a female wouldn’t be a problem for her, because in the comics she’s actually bisexual! She even had a little fling with the aforementioned Odessa Drake!
Bruno and Dr. Korpse
Black Cat mentions her best guys Bruno and Dr. Korpse. They’re Cat’s crew, the muscle and brainiac. They joined her in her most recent solo run, but they go way back to Black Cat’s first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #194 in 1979!
The Big Man
Tombstone wants to use the Siege Perilous to become the Big Man of crime. That is what he was called in The Spectacular Spider-Man, where Tombstone was essentially a de facto Kingpin. He was actually the Big Man!
Ultimate Spider-Man
Notice the code to Tombstone’s briefcase? 2-0-1-1. That’s because Miles Morales debuted in 2011, in the pages of Ultimate Fallout #4!
Gods Don’t Have to Choose
Remember Norman’s speech from No Way Home? You know the one. Since in the Face Front Universe, the events of No Way Home never happened, this is the first time Peter’s hearing that speech, and coming face to face with Norman Osborn.
Just Like Me
In the comics, Miles had an epic fight with Uncle Aaron that ended with his gauntlets exploding, causing his death. With his final words, he told Miles he was just like him, haunting Miles for several issues afterwards. I thought it’d be a good scene to incorporate in this vid.
The Ledge!
Hey! Remember that one time Uncle Aaron fell off a ledge!? Okay, that one wasn’t intentional, but I came across it looking for a pic for the previous Easter Egg and I was like “Hey, that happened in my video too!”
Generous Proposal
Did you stick around for the post credits scene? Why not!? Why are people still leaving before the post credits scene!?! (I actually saw people walking out of Wakanda Forever. It’s been 14 years people!) Anyways, if you did, then thank you, and you’ll notice some familiar dialogue. Green Goblin offering a generous proposal, like from the first Raimi Spider-Man flick. Also that “Now you’re getting into the spirit of things” line is from the movie video game, if you wanna get really sweaty about it.
That’s all for this one True Believers. This one took a lot work, so I really hope you guys appreciate it. It’s also the longest vid at nearly 40 minutes long! And that’s after I trimmed it down! These things were supposed to be 5-10 minutes long. Yeah, big LOL there. But you know I do this for you guys, so spread the love, show your friends, and as always, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

Spider-Man: Web Warriors Episode 4: Spidey and his Amazing Friends
Gwen has tracked down some new recruits for the Web-Warriors, and they look exactly like her, Peter and Miles! Will Spidey and his Amazing Friends lend their experience as a team to the fight against the Master Planner? Find out now!
This episode of Web-Warriors is special for several reasons. For one, I didn’t write it! It was written, actually, by long-time friend of Face Front and voice of Ghost-Spider Eileen Nestman! Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you the story!
Eileen is my best friend (since the 6th grade!) That’s why she does voice work and set building for me, but she lives all the way in Idaho! A while ago, I sent her son Lewis the little Spidey and his Amazing Friends toys for Christmas. And one night, the idea for this episode just… came to her! She wrote it down and sent it to me, just for fun, but I figured it would be a great Web-Warriors episode.
I had planned on doing one with these little guys, but the problem was that I haven’t seen all the episodes of the show, whereas Eileen (and Lewis) have. So when she came down to Arizona to visit, I bought the Web-Quarters playset and we got to work! Below you’ll find an EXCLUSIVE behind the scenes video of just what that looks like. I also have the usual Easter Eggs section, but I had Eileen write it this time since, again, she knows the show better.
So enjoy the bonus content True Believers, and please Click Here to check out Eileen’s YouTube channel! She does so much for Face Front, so let’s show her some love by watching her vids and subscribing to her channel!
EXCLUSIVE Behind the Scenes Video
Easter Eggs
Written by Eileen Nestman
Web-Quarters
In Spidey and His Amazing Friends, web quarters folds out of the ground and stands obviously above the houses in the neighborhood, yet no one knows about it in universe.
Lesson Learned
Each Episode of Spidey and his Amazing Friends has a cute little moral to go with it.
They’re just… Kids!?
The Web trio seems to be elementary age in this version.
Baddies
All bad guys in Spidey and his Amazing Friends are referred to as baddies in this show, not just bad guys.
Crimes of the Past
Doc Ock stealing Christmas presents, Rhino cheating at carnival games, and Green Goblin wreaking havoc in Central Park all happened in the show, and were mentioned in this episode.
Captain Stacy??
Gwen’s mom in this universe takes the place of the role her dad usually fills but as a detective instead of police captain.
Miles’ Parents
In one episode the trio go camping with Mile’s dad who is a park ranger in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and Mile’s mom is usually seen wearing scrubs.
Webs Out!
This version of the trio has anime style transformations when they “change” into their suits.
Spin!
In this show Miles goes by spin in universe reason is because of tracy and the computer needing different profile names, but IRL we all know it’s so that the little kiddies don’t get confused.
That’s it for this fun episode of Web-Warriors! Hope to see the little guys again sometime soon! What did you guys think? Let me know below, make sure to check out Eileen’s YouTube Channel, and as always, Face Front True Believers, I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 2: Spider-Man Miles Morales
Close out the 10th Anniversary of Miles Morales with the next installment of Web-Warriors! While Spidey is gone, Miles takes up the responsibility of finding the next candidate for the Web-Warriors. Little does he know that he’s about to come face-to-face with another Miles Morales!
I wanted to close the year with a tribute to Miles since this is his 10th Anniversary. In a previous video, I laid out my history with the character. I feel close to him, and I was all too proud to make a video where Miles meets Miles! In a world where we’ve seen several versions of Peter Parker interact, I thought it would be unique to see what Miles thinks of himself from another universe!
This being the Gamerverse Miles Morales, of course I included several little Easter eggs that anyone who has played the game will surely pick up on!
Nuform
Miles states that he saved the city from an unstable Nuform reactor. Fans of the game will recognize this as the dangerous substance being exploited by Simon Krieger to power Roxxon Plaza. Before that particular reactor exploded, Miles was able to absorb the energy and release it high above the city.
The Tinkerer
Miles’s friend Phin Mason was Insomniac Games’ version of the terrible Tinkerer. With high-tech weapons and an army of followers called the Underground at her disposal, the Tinkerer wrecked havoc on Harlem in an all-out war with Roxxon. Luckily, as stated in the video, Miles was able to stop her, though it cost him his friend.
Chase of Goose
In the first Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4 game, there were some levels where you played as Miles before he had his Spidey-powers. One of these was a terrifying game of hide-and-seek with the Rhino! Rhino, annoyed that he couldn’t find you (if you were good at the game) stated that he hated the “chase of goose”. So in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, I guess Miles remembered this because he brought it up to rile up Rhino, just like in the video!
Harlem
Yes, traditionally Miles is from Brooklyn. But in the game, after his father died in the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Rio moved herself and Miles back to her hometown of Harlem. Miles was a bit uncomfortable with the move at first, but as time went on, he came to love, and protect, his new home.
Teo’s Bodega
Along with Harlem came a supporting cast of residents that by the end of the game were referring to Miles as “our Spider-Man”, as he states in the video. Teo is one of these residents, and he has a cat. Named Spider-Man the Cat. Which made for a very fun alternate costume for those of you who have unlocked it in the game.
Well, that’s it for me True Believers! More Web-Warriors will be coming in the new year, as well as new episodes of Return to the Spider-Verse. Until then, happy 10th Anniversary to Miles Morales! I can’t believe he’s been around for so long! It feels like just yesterday I picked up Ultimate Fallout #4 off the shelf! So what’d you guys think of the video? Who else do you want to see in Web-Warriors? Let me know below, and until next time, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
