  • The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 3: Whatever It Takes

The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 3: Whatever It Takes

For a while, everything was good. The world was at peace. But it didn’t last long. It never does.

Part 3 of The End of the Marvel Universe answers the question that I’m sure has been on the minds of Face Front viewers since 2019: What happened after Falcon snapped? You’ve all seen the scene a million times: “Sam, stop, please! We’re sorry! I’m sorry! Do you hear me Sam? I am sorry!” followed by “And I… am… the Falcon.” SNAP!

Of course we know what happened to some characters after that. Spider-Man was transported to another reality. The Midnight Suns had to deal with rifts opening up through space. And we now know that Loki was shot 5 years forward in time. But we never figured out what happened to Sam himself. Well, now we know.

Inspired by Doctor Strange looking into the future, Tony Stark observed the timeline to see when the Infinity Gauntlet would be used next instead of waiting for it to happen. The answer: The year 2099. Figuring that’s where Sam ended up after he snapped, Tony and Bruce Banner, with the help of Hank Pym’s research into the Quantum Realm, created the time travel device we saw used in the (not canon in the Face Front Universe) movie Avengers: Endgame.

Last time Tony saw Fury, he’d assured him that he was fighting the Secret War from a different angle (see Secret Wars Season 9). This was it. Recruiting Captain America, the only one not wrapped up in a Secret War battle (wonder what happened with Bucky…), Tony blasts to 2099 to get Sam and the Infinity Gauntlet. Only when Bruce tries to bring them back, it doesn’t work. Which means, as Tony said, they’re stuck in the future and now someone has to go get them!

Hm. Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange… Busy. Missing. Trapped. Lost. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are scattered. Which leaves the world vulnerable to attack. And paves the way… for the end of the Marvel Universe!

This leads us into the finale of this series, Part 4, which will finally answer the question: How did the Marvel Universe end? Alas, Marvelites, you’ll have to wait until 2024 to have that answer. But that’s right around the corner, so fret not! I can’t wait until you guys finally witness the epic conclusion to this thrilling adventure! Until then, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Loki: Realm of the Dishonored Dead

Loki: Realm of the Dishonored Dead

Accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Loki must gather all of his wits and allies to escape the Realm of the Dishonored Dead, and its merciless Queen.

This Loki video has been years in the making, True Believers. Since 2020, the post credits scene in Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six has teased Loki, and now it’s here! Yes, I’ve had it planned that long, and actually, not much has changed. So let’s get into the long awaited Loki video, shall we?

    Voice Talent

First off, as always, I want to thank my incredible cast. Kyle Rice returned from his debut in Glorious Purpose to lend his voice to Loki once more. Kyle brings just the right amount of Norse to keep it authentic, and Hiddleston to keep it Marvel. I honestly think I struck gold, with Kyle’s range, making Loki so expressive. I’m glad to have him as my leading man.

Then we have Allyson Phillips, aka Loki’s #1 fan! I refused to do the video without giving her a role, and she made Sylvie her own. Seriously, the scene where she enchants Ares? My goodness, Allyson brought it this time around, coming off of her small roll in Glorious Purpose. Her love for all things Loki clearly shines through in her performance. Make sure to find AllyCharms on all the platforms listed in this Linktree.

Of course, let’s not forget Face Front veteran Eileen Nestman, known for her role as Ghost-Spider in the Spider-Verse vids. This time she brought Hela to life with just the amount of terror and gravitas I wanted from her performance. And Eileen, being the trooper she is, pulled double duty this time as the honorable Lady Sif. Eileen’s contributions to Face Front are immeasurable, so please show her some love by checking her out on YouTube!

And I’d like to give my sister Jaelen an honorable mention for lending her voice to the tough-as-nails Valkyrie!

    Easter Eggs

There were quite a few references sprinkled about in this video. Did you catch them all?

    The Death of Phil Coulson

No one can forget the most shocking moment in the first Avengers movie, when Loki slew Agent Phil Coulson. So imagine Loki’s surprise when the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent interrogating him is none other than the Son of Coul himself! That’s because, and I’ll say it loud for the people in the back, AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. IS CANNON!!! And I will die on that hill. Therefore, #CoulsonLives!

    The Casket of Ancient Winters

While defending himself of Thor and Coulson’s accusations, Loki mentions that he would rather trifle with the Tesseract, or the Casket of Ancient Winters. I’m sure everyone remembers the Tesseract, but don’t forget about the Casket, which Loki used in the first movie. The relic contains the power of the eternal winter, and if left unchecked, could freeze an entire realm!

    Cast You Out

If Thor banishing Loki to Niflheim felt familiar, it’s because it’s meant to mirror the scene from the first movie where Odin casts Thor out to learn a lesson on Earth. Like father, like son.

    The Fenrir Wolf

From Norse legends themselves, Hela’s dog is none other than the fearsome Fenrir Wolf. He was last seen in the MCU being defeated by Hulk, but in the Face Front Universe, Thor undid the events of Ragnarok. So Fenris now resides with his master Hela in the Realm of the Dishonored Dead.

    Fall of the Valkyrie

When Loki frees Valkyrie, she mentions that she barely escaped with her life after Hela slayed her sisters in their first encounter. Remember in Thor: Ragnarok, when Val and an army of her sisters faced Hela, but they were all slain, Val being the only survivor.

    Ares

The Marvel Universe has more than just Norse gods, it has Olympian ones too! There are of course the most notable among them, like Zeus and Hercules. But there is also Ares, the God of War, who loves nothing more than a battle. Especially if he wins.

    Lady Loki

Being a shapeshifter, Loki has taken many forms over the years. Whether he’s himself, a kid, or even a lady. Sylvie changes him into Lady Loki for a brief cameo to pay homage to just one of Loki’s many forms!

    Amora the Enchantress

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had this video planned for years. So long, in fact, that Sylvie didn’t even exist yet! In the original script, Sylvie’s role was filled by Amora, the most famous comic version of the Enchantress. But when Sylvie came along, I simply swapped their places. However, to pay homage to what once was, I had Sylvie transform into Amora to aid in her enchantment of Ares.

    Frostgrinder

Frostgrinder is a knockoff Bifrost Bridge that is meant to mimic its ability to transport a user across realms. This one’s actually a deep cut, it comes from the Thor movie tie-in video game, and was constructed by Ulik the Troll so that he could invade Asgard!

    Yggdrasil

What was that word Loki said when he returned to Asgard? It was Yggdrasil, the World Tree. This is the tree that connects all of the Nine Realms. It’s pretty important, for attacking Yggdrasil would mean attacking all Nine Realms at once!

    Maestro

The Hulk? A villain? It can’t be! Unfortunately, True Believers, is is! In the comics, a future version of the Hulk has turned full villain, destroying nearly all of Earth’s mightiest heroes and renaming himself Maestro. And with Thor’s hammer at his feet and Surtur by his side, this won’t be an easy fight for Loki!

And that’s it for this one True Believers! I’m so excited for you to see what’s next! Did you see King Loki in that post credits scene? And he’s told Talos they need to call none other than Captain Marvel herself! I tell you Marvelites, stay tuned because there’s only more merry Marvel mayhem to come!

And one more thing, there’s new merch in the shop available from this video! Right now, you get your hands on the latest Face Front swag, including shirts with Loki and Sylvie! More coming soon, so keep an eye on the shop! And remember, any merch purchase gets you an entry to win the Marvel Legends Spider-Man: No Way Home 3-pack! Click Here for more details on that. And click on one of the shirts below to buy it now!

Well, that’s it for me. Thank you for watching. Share it with all your friends if you liked it! Your support is the one thing that keeps this channel, and me, going, so thank you guys. Seriously, you’re the best. Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 8: Ultimate Spider-Man (Part 2)

    Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 8: Ultimate Spider-Man (Part 2)

Spider-Man from Earth-1610 has arrived and he is NOT happy! Now two heroes must battle to determine who is the one true Ultimate Spider-Man!

So there you have it True Believers! It looks like there can be more than one Ultimate Spider-Man! In fact, there’s 3! Miles is still out there, somewhere. Though longtime, eagle-eyed Face Front viewers may already know where he is…

But that aside, let’s talk about the Easter Eggs I packed into this one!

    Easter Eggs

    Box Art

First let’s look at the thumbnail of the video. That’s right, if you recognized it, it’s an homage to the box art of the 2005 Ultimate Spider-Man video game!

    Return to Sender

When Spidey throws the Spider-Buggy back at the 1610 Spider-Man, he shouts “Hey buddy, I think you lost this!” That’s exactly what Spidey shouted to Winter Soldier in Captain America: Civil War before chucking a sign back at him that Bucky had thrown earlier.

    Electricity

In the Ultimate Comics, as well as the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, the Symbiote has been shown to be weakened by electricity, in addition to sound. That’s why the animated Ultimate Spidey knew his S.H.I.E.L.D.-issued taser webs would work!

    Animated Venom

Notice how animated Ultimate Spidey kept calling the Symbiote “Venom”. That’s because in his world, Doc Ock created it and named it Venom. In the Ultimate Universe, however, the Symbiote is simply known as “The Suit” (more on that below).

    Human Torch Races

During Ultimate Spidey’s backstory, I have a picture of him racing against the Human Torch from the Fantastic 4. If you’ve played the game, you’re sure to remember those races well.

    Comic Panel Storytelling

Also during Ultimate Spidey’s exposition scenes, you may have noticed I used a comic book aesthetic to how the scenes played out. This was done to mimic the way the video game did cutscenes, by flashing comic panels across the screen.

    The Oz Serum

Ultimate Spider-Man mentions the Oz Serum that gave him his powers, and also created the Green Goblin. That’s the name of the serum used to create the spider that bit Peter in the Ultimate Comics.

    The Suit

In the Ultimate Comics, the Symbiote is “The Suit”. It was created by Richard Parker and Eddie Brock Sr. It was intended to be a cure for all diseases and ailments to the human body, including cancer. It was left as what Eddie called his and Peter’s “inheritance”. At risk of losing it forever, Peter tried to preserve it but accidentally wound up wearing it. Having been created using Richard’s DNA, it fit Peter like a glove, but the hunger of the suit nearly made him lose control.

After attempting to destroy it, Eddie put it on, and became the Ultimate version of Venom. He had no control over it, and went on a hunger-fueled rampage before confronting Peter at Midtown and ultimately being stopped.

    Spider-Man vs. Miles Morales

When Peter came back, he was at odds with Miles for a bit. While he wasn’t dead set on destroying him, he was a bit put off by Miles swinging around, especially with his Web Shooters that his father designed. Ultimately, however, he determined that Miles was good, and gave him his blessing.

    Ultimate Ressurection

In the comics, Ultimate Spider-Man inexplicably returned to life. No, seriously, Brian Michael Bendis gave no reasoning for his return before jumping ship to DC. So I took matters into my own hands! as mentioned in the video, the first time Peter disposed of the Symbiote, it was at the foot of his father’s (as well as mother’s and Uncle Ben’s) grave.

Since the Suit was designed to heal and keyed to Richard Parker, I had it detect his remains and crawl underground to latch on to him and try to do what it was created for. However, it’s kind of hard to resurrect a skeleton. So when Peter died, though I don’t remember if it’s explicitly stated in the comics, I’d like to think he was buried next to his family.

So the Suit, still holding onto Richard Parker’s remains, detected that Peter was down there with them. So it slithered over to him and brought him back to life. And that, True Believers, is how the Ultimate Spider-Man came back to life!

    Comic Homages

I made several homages to the Ultimate Spider-Man comic. From covers of landmark issues to a near panel for panel recreation of the final battle against the Green Goblin, below is a gallery of all of the comic art that inspired me in this episode. Have fun scrolling back through the video and finding each one!

That’s a wrap True Believers! How’d you like the first ever Web-Warriors 2-parter? This video was a challenge, with the comic panel storytelling, but it was also so much fun to do both versions of Ultimate Spider-Man! That’s what I love about the Face Front Universe, the crossovers you never imagined come to life! I can’t wait for the next Web-Warriors, which will be Zombie Hunter Spider-Man from What If…? Until then, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Glorious Purpose

    Glorious Purpose

Before Loki falls prey to the horrors that lie within the Realm of the Dishonored Dead, he must first reclaim his glorious purpose by destroying his mortal enemies: The Avengers.

When I announced Loki: Realm of the Dishonored Dead all those years ago, Glorious Purpose was just the beginning of the video. However, as time went on, and I added lore to the Face Front Universe, I realized I’d need to explain some things in the Loki video. So I kept adding and adding to the beginning before I decided, you know what, let’s make it its own thing. And thus, we have the prelude to the long awaited Realm of the Dishonored Dead!

    Voice Talent

Starring as Loki is my good friend Kyle Rice! He brings the gravitas as well as the pageantry required to play Loki in his quest for revenge. Look forward to Kyle returning for Realm of the Dishonored Dead!

Another Face Front newcomer is Allyson Phillips! If the name sounds familiar, it’s because she has worked with Face Front before! AllyCharms Art, her business, supplied me with the Nick Fury keychains for the Secret Wars: Dark Dimension Prize Bundles!

I tapped Allyson to voice Sylvie in this video because, well, she’s the biggest Loki fan I know! And not including her in this video would have felt so wrong. And I’m so happy I did, because she is simply the perfect voice for Sylvie! Look forward to her return in Realm of the Dishonored Dead as well, and make sure to find AllyCharms on all the platforms listed in this Linktree.

And of course, Face Front’s very own Eileen Nestman puts in some last minute voice work as Miss Minutes and Black Widow! As always, I’m very grateful for what she does, and as always, catch her on her own YouTube channel!

    The Story So Far

So where does Glorious Purpose fall in the Face Front Timeline? 8 months after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Events which played out differently in the Face Front Universe (see End of the Marvel Universe Part 1: The Unknown).

If you recall, Thor used the Infinity Gauntlet to, among other things, bring Loki back to life. This, however, pulled him out of the confrontation he and Sylvie were about to have with He Who Remains, thus altering the events of Marvel Studios’ Loki in the Face Front Universe. Without this confrontation, Sylvie never opens the way to the Multiverse Saga in the MCU!

Loki is brought back to Earth in the desert where the TVA picked him up, and immediately resolves to get back to Sylvie. He figures he can do this by causing a Nexus event and having the TVA take him once more.

After months of scheming, Loki enacts his plan to return to Sylvie. Unfortunately, for those who remember the Loki show, by the time he and Sylvie reached He Who Remains, the TVA was in complete disarray. So Loki is left with no choice but to finish the fight he started against the Avengers. Which, as we see, did not end in his favor.

    Easter Eggs

    Avengers #1

First of all, check out the key art for the video. Look familiar? That’s because it’s a play on the front cover of Avengers #1! I added Cap and replaced Ant-Man and the Wasp with Black Widow and Hawkeye, but the iconic shot of the Avengers throwing down with Loki is still instantly recognizable!

    M.O.D.O.K.

Scientist Supreme mentions that AIM was using Loki’s scepter to kickstart another project they were working on. He begins to describe it as a “Mental Organism Designed Only for-” before he stops. I think we all know where that was headed…

    You Have Heart

Note that quick little remark by Hawkeye when Loki says his mind control works on the simple-minded? He says “I heard that”, offended by Loki’s claim being as he was one of the first to fall under Loki’s influence in The Avengers.

    Dull Creatures

Before Loki gets smashed by Hulk, he begins to make the same speech he stared in The Avengers. He’s pretty determined to finish it, but as long as Hulk is around, I guess we’ll never know what Loki refuses to be bullied by!

That’s it for me Marvelites! I hope you enjoyed this action packed adventure, and be sure to see how the story ends in Loki: Realm of the Dishonored Dead, coming soon! Until then, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 10: It Can Get Weirder

Spider-Man: Return to the Spider-Verse Episode 10: It Can Get Weirder

Spidey and Spider-Ham must team up against the vicious Kraven the Hunter! And maybe with a cameo or two?

Big shout out to Eileen Nestman pulling double duty in this episode! She always glows as the glamorous Ghost-Spider. But this time she was able to flex those vocal skills and play a completely different tone as the psychotic White Rabbit! Truly, there is no end to Eileen’s talent. To get more of Epic Eileen, check out her YouTube and her Instagram.

And of course we can’t forget my boy Xavier Hernandez as the spine-tingling Spider-Man 2099! Playing it cool and cryptic as always, make sure you check out big X over on his Instagram.

And now, you know what time it is. Time for Easter Eggs! And there’s a lot in this one Marvelites, so strap in!

    Breaking the 4th Wall

That’s right! Similar to heroes like Deadpool and She-Hulk, Spider-Ham has the unique ability to break the 4th wall! It was actually teased that he could do this in episode 1 of Return to the Spider-Verse when he told Peter he read the subtitles to understand what Peni was saying. The logic is that he’s basically like a Looney Tunes character, and those guys shatter the 4th wall with reckless abandon!

    The Bombastic Bag-Man

After Peter gets knocked out by Sp//dr, Ham covers his head with a paper bag so that no one realizes he’s out cold. This is a reference to one of Peter’s suits from the comics, the Bombastic Bag-Man! When Spider-Man first took off the Symbiote in the comics, he did so with the help of the Fantastic 4. But being that he had nothing to wear, Human Torch found it funny to hook him up with a spare FF costume and a paper bag over his head.

    A Really Good Lawyer

When Spider-Ham nearly brings in a hero from the “Distinguished Competition”, he’s stopped by none other than Daredevil himself! Those who remember Matt Murdock’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home will recall that he described himself as a really good lawyer when Peter asked how he caught the brick. Also, fun fact, the role of Daredevil was played by Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie, who also played Batman in several DC Universe movies. So I thought having them share the screen for a second was a fun little nod.

    Captain Stacy

If you’ve watched Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, or read Ghost-Spider’s comics, you know that Captain Stacy is dead-set on figuring out the identity of the Ghost-Spider. Believing she killed Peter, he makes it his job to hunt her down and stop her. This was alluded to back in episode 6, when Gwen mentions that everyone, even her own father, was trying to stop her. Also notice the musical cue when Captain Stacy says Ghost-Spider’s name, from Daniel Pemberton’s new Across the Spider-Verse score! I timed it that way intentionally, same with the now famous Spider-Man 2099 score earlier.

    Suicide Squad

Did White-Rabbit remind you a bit of Harley Quinn? How about Armadillo, a little like Groot? Lines like “We’re some kind of Suicide Squad” and “We’re bad guys, it’s what we do” Sound familiar? That’s because episode 10 was my first attempt at a parody in Return to the Spider-Verse! Since Ham was teaming up with a ragtag team of villains trying to be heroes, I figured I’d take little nods and jabs here and there at movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad. It definitely made writing this episode more fun!

    The Savage Six

There’s a team from the Spider-Man comics known as the Savage Six, which includes animal-themed villains such as Vulture, Stegron, Scorpion, Rhino, etc. When giving Ham a team, I wanted them all to be animal-themed, since he’s a pig. This also ties in thematically to Kraven being the villain, but I’ll circle back to that in a sec.

    Jonathan

Ham introduces the sixth member of the Savage Six as his mallet, Jonathan! This is actually a nod to an interview with Paul Rudd from Ant-Man and the Wasp, where the interviewer asks the cast what the name of Thor’s hammer is. And while everyone is trying to pronounce Mjolnir, Paul Rudd simply says Jonathan.

    Hammerspace

As Ham mentions, his mallet fitting inside of his pocket is a concept that’s called Hammerspace. As viewers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will know, it’s defined as “an infinite extra dimensional storage area for cartoon hammers and the like”. Vulture uses it later to stash Kraven’s spear, which I thought was a neat callback to the DaVinci Universe Vulture using it in the movie!

    A Problem With Cartoons

Those who remember Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will recall a moment in the final showdown where Spider-Ham comes face to face with Scorpion. Scorpion laughs, asking if Ham is some kind of silly cartoon, to which Ham replies “You got a problem with cartoons?” before wrecking Scorpion, just like he did to Kraven in this episode!

    Cluvin is Ivory

The element “Cluvin” that the team is looking for is actually another word for ivory. As Spider-Ham mentions, this was a callback to an episode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends called “Spidey Meets the Girl from Tomorrow”. A girl named Ariel and her brother crash on Earth from the future, and Spidey becomes absolutely smitten with her! He does anything in his power to help her repair her ship, and one of the things she needs is something called Cluvin. Spidey has no idea what it is, but while hanging out with her at the zoo, Ariel spots an elephant’s tusk and claims that it’s Cluvin, leading to the conclusion that Cluvin is ivory.

    Rabbit Season

A classic Loony Tunes gag is one where Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are trying to get Elmer Fudd to shoot one another by claiming it’s either rabbit season or duck season. It usually ends with Bugs outsmarting Daffy by saying it’s rabbit season, causing Daffy to shout “Duck Season, FIRE!” I thought with Ham basically being a Looney Tune himself, it’d be a fun gag to implement. Another one was the mid-credits scene with the “That’s all folks!” I’m pretty sure everyone caught that though.

“Has to do with Spider-Man I think”

If you’ve seen Morbius, I’m sorry. If you stayed for the post credits scene, then again, I’m sorry. But you’ll recall Vulture’s interaction with Morbius is the exact same as the meeting with the Sinister Six in the episode. I thought it’d be a story Vulture came with on the spot because honestly that’s about as much thought as Sony put into it. Notice how when he describes the story he told to Prowler, he uses the words “offensively bad”. Yeah, my cringe tolerance is actually really high, but I just couldn’t with this scene! I thought it would be even funnier to have Ham repeat it to the Savage Six and actually have it work.

    Hunted

A recent story in The Amazing Spider-Man comics was called “Hunted”. In this story, Kraven gathers all of the animal-themed villains and Spider-Man into Central Park, and with the help of Arcade, creates this big, elaborate hunting ground, where the hunters (millionaires that Kraven duped) and the villains are all at risk! So thematically, having the Savage Six do their final showdown with Kraven in Central Park was kind of the perfect set piece.

    I was Happy

When Leap-Frog makes his incredible leap to the tune of “I Believe I Can Fly”, he nearly nabs Vulture, but comes up just short! Just before he falls, he says “I was happy, floating in the pond, staring at the lily pads”. This was another The Suicide Squad reference, when Starro is defeated, he claims that he was happy floating through space, staring at the stars. The “Spider-Ham, what a joke line” comes from that movie as well. Also, when Rabbit asks if Leap-Frog is dead, the tune that plays is the haunting death/game over music from the first Spider-Man movie game. I apologize to anyone I triggered by playing that traumatizing tune! I mean, seriously, what were they thinking! It’s like, yeah, okay, I died, I get it, no need to rub it in with a whole orchestral symphony!

    Hey Pedro

In Spider-Man: Homecoming when Peter goes to pick up Liz, and figures out that her father is the Vulture, Toomes has problems remembering Peter’s name. He mocks him with this in the final battle by calling him Pedro. I thought it’d be a nice way to reference Vutlure’s history with MCU Spidey.

That’s it for this episode! It was really fun doing a comedic parody, and I hope you all really enjoyed it. Also, no, slipping on a banana peel was not fun, thank you for asking. I can’t wait for Episode 11: For the Love of MJ! After all this Paul nonsense in the comics, I think a classic Peter/MJ story is sorely needed! Until then, Face Front True Believers, I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 2: True Believers

The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 2: True Believers

In this universe, the Avengers became something more. Witnessing their heroics, a young man by the name of Joshua Westbrook approached the heroes, with an idea.

Part 2 of The End of the Marvel Universe answers a question that goes back to some day-one Face Front videos: Why did the Avengers work for Face Front? If you came into Face Front on Return of the Sinister Six (and I know A LOT of you did) then you’ll remember MJ dropping Spidey off at the Daily Bugle to do what he called the ‘Face Front News Flash’. Longtime viewers of the channel will remember the News Flash videos that Spider-Man hosted in the Daily Bugle Newsroom.

Another question later viewers might have is what is Sam Says? Well, some of you may remember the first 2 episodes of Sam’s documentary series, which got canceled by Spider-Man because Face Front didn’t have the budget. Which led to the snapping incident.

See where this is going? The Avengers on Earth-84061 worked for Joshua Westbrook (aka me!) at Face Front to create superhero content and inspire a new generation of heroes, while showcasing the good deeds of the original ones.

Part 2: True Believers, has now revealed the story of just how Joshua recruited the Avengers to his cause and set off the events that eventually led to the Infinity Showdown! But hold fast, my virtuous viewers, for this is only half of the story! Part 3: Whatever it Takes, is next! And this one goes into what happened after the Infinity Showdown! What happened after Falcon snapped! Check out the guide below to keep track of what’s happening in the series!

Well, until then friends! I’ll be working hard to get Part 3 to you guys as soon as possible! So Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 1: The Unknown

The End of the Marvel Universe – Part 1: The Unknown

This is Earth 84061. The year is 2018. Thanos has arrived in the African nation of Wakanda. It’s here that the Avengers make their final stand against the Mad Titan.

This is Part 1 of the 4-Part Series, The End of the Marvel Universe. This series explains what happened to Peter’s world, an event that has been chronicled across the Secret Wars videos and the two prequel comics. All of those and more are summed up in this series. Part 1: The Unknown, answers the question: Where does the Face Front Universe diverge from the MCU?

Those who have been following Face Front have noticed some MCU events are canon, like Avengers: Age of Ultron and most of the MCU Spider-Man movies. But there’s also some differences, such as Sam Says, Return to the Spider-Verse, and some characters, like Doctor Doom! None of this is in the MCU, and Part 1 tells us why.

Uatu the Watcher guides us through the events of 2018’s Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War. However, there is one key difference: When Thanos snaps, Sam Wilson, the Falcon, never vanished in the blip. And that is the moment that created a new universe. The Face Front Universe.

Having not faded away, Sam found a burst of bravery and charged Thanos, giving Thor just enough time to sever his arm, as well as his connection to the Infinity Gauntlet. Those who remember the movie will remember that Thanos used the Space Stone to retreat before Thor had a chance to react! And now, Thor got his revenge, killing Thanos in Wakanda! Thor also did what he wanted to do in Avengers: Endgame, and used the Gauntlet to undo the blip, mere moments after it happened!

What does this mean? It means that Avengers: Endgame, and everything that came after it, is no longer canon in the Face Front Universe. The blip was undone in 5 minutes instead of 5 years. Thanos was killed in 2018. Asgard, and Loki, were brought back. And everyone lost in Thanos’ quest for the Infinity Stones was brought back to life. Think about the implications of that. It’s not just people who died in Infinity War. Thanos’ search for the stones was a direct cause for quite a few deaths from Phases 1-3. And all of those people have been brought back! Long story short: The Avengers saved the universe!

But then why is the series called The End of the Marvel Universe? Well, think back to the scene on Titan, with Doctor Strange. He stated that there were 14,000,605 outcomes in the battle with Thanos, and the Avengers won in one of them. That was Avengers: Endgame. So yes, while the Avengers did stop Thanos, the Face Front Universe is one of the remaining 14,000,604 where it doesn’t end well. How does that happen? Well, you’ll have to wait and see.

The guide below will inform you of when to expect the next parts of the series as well as what each part will entail:

That’s it for this one! I can’t wait until Part 2! This will explain things like how Falcon got his show, Sam Says, and why Spider-Man was at the Daily Bugle doing the Face Front News flashes. It’s all connected! Until then, Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 7: Ultimate Spider-Man (Part 1)

    Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 7: Ultimate Spider-Man (Part 1)

The Spidey team is about to get the Ultimate upgrade! Ultimate Spider-Man swings into Web-Warriors ready to prove why he’s the best in the Spider-Verse! But not everyone seems to share this opinion…

Ultimate Spider-Man is an episode I’ve been waiting for because I thought it would be a fun challenge to capture the chaotic nature of the show. With the cutaways and the crazy noises, I really wanted this to feel like an episode of the 2012 TV show. Of course, that included throwing in a whole bunch of references!

    Easter Eggs

    The Spider-Cycle

After Ultimate Spidey lands on the bike in the Spider’s Nest, he says “I had one of these!” Fans will remember the Spider-Cycle that Spidey rode throughout most of the series. I, like a lot of fans, and even Spidey in the show, questioned why he needed a motorcycle to begin with. But wouldn’t you believe it, the dang bike grew on me as the show went on!

    Fourth Wall Cutaways

Notice how Ultimate Spidey pauses the episode to talk to the audience. It’s something he did frequently in the TV show! It was a unique feature of this show, whilst every other Spidey show had Peter’s thoughts as an ethereal voice, this one tried something new. Spidey pausing the show to tell the audience what was going on really became one of the defining staples of Ultimate Spider-Man!

    Spidey Teams

Of course you’ll all remember Spider-Man’s main team in the show, Power-Man, Iron Fist, White Tiger and, ugh, Nova. But one thing I loved about this show is that they put Spider-Man in several leadership roles, including the New Warriors, the Web-Warriors, and yes, even a crossover episode with the kids from the Disney Channel show Jessie!

    Doom Demands a Banana Split

Spider-Man and his team tackled Dr. Doom early in the show, as he mentions in the episode. It turned out to be a trap, as Doom used them to infiltrate the Helicarrier, which I kind of drew from for Beetle’s attack. The banana split line was just a quite hilarious cutaway gag.

    Nova

Spider-Man and Nova had a pretty contentious relationship throughout the show. At the end of the day, they respected each other as heroes and teammates, but that didn’t mean they didn’t throw jabs at each other. Bucket-head, get your webs out of a bunch, all things they’ve said to and called each other. Of course, I tapped my buddy Xavier Hernandez to voice Nova, not only because he’s a fan of Sam Alexander, but our relationship is kind of similar, always ribbing each other.

Fun fact: When Nova says “Work on your material”, that was Xavier talking to me. Because the original line, in hindsight, was super cheesy, even for an episode imitating the Ultimate Spider-Man TV show! Recording this with him was super fun, even if it took us a while because we kept messing around. Make sure to check out more of Xavier on his Instagram @shatter24wolf!

    Wall of Shame

Nova mentions Spidey said he’d end up on the Wall of Shame for dying 5 minutes after joining S.H.I.E.L.D. That was a direct gag from Episode 2, and probably my favorite joke in the entire show. I don’t know why, I just thought it was hilarious.

    Chibi-Spidey

One of the cutaway gags used often in the show was a little scene acted out with chibi versions of the characters. I simply couldn’t do an Ultimate Spider-Man Web-Warriors episode without including some Chibi-Spidey!

    Character Cards

Another unique feature of the show were title cards they used to introduce villains or new characters. I definitely wanted to pay homage to that when I showed Beetle for the first time!

    VS!

Along with the title cards for the villains, sometimes when a confrontation took place, they put the opponents on either side of the screen and threw up a giant “VS!” with an announcer shouting it to hammer the point home! Real fighting game vibes.

That’s it for this one guys. What’s that? Oooh, you wanna know about the Symbiote-suited Spidey claiming to be the real Ultimate Spider-Man? Well, friends, that is going to have to wait for Part 2 of this Web-Warriors episode! That’s right, the first Web-Warriors 2-parter! Because how am I going to do one version of Ultimate Spider-Man without doing the other? The one who, mind you, was the original from the comics! Clearly he’s not too happy about the TV show version running around calling himself the Ultimate Spider-Man!

So keep your eyes peeled for Episode 8, coming soon! Until then, thank you so much for watching. Truly, you guys are what makes all this hard work worth it! Face Front True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!

  • Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 6: Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man | 60 Years of Spider-Man

    Spider-Man: Web-Warriors Episode 6: Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man | 60 Years of Spider-Man

End Spider-Man’s 60th Anniversary with a special episode of Web-Warriors! Starring the very first Spidey to ever sling a web: The Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man! Relive the origin story that created a hero 60 years strong!

2022 marks the 60-Year Anniversary for everyone’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! Being as such, I thought it would be the ultimate tribute to close the year with a Web-Warriors that harkens back to where it all began for Spider-Man.

Just like last year with Miles, this special Web-Warriors is a love letter to all things Peter Parker! And not only is this his 60th Anniversary, but as of Christmas, this is my 20th year of being a Spider-Man fan.

Spider-Man has meant so much to me over these past 2 decades, and to the world for the past 6. The minute Hasbro announced the Amazing Fantasy figure, I’ve had this video in mind. To not only retell the timeless origin in my image, but to encapsulate the many iterations of Spider-Man over the past 60 years.

I’m so happy I had enough episodes of Return to the Spider-Verse to do a montage that featured everyone. From big screen iterations to alternate comic universes, TV shows to video games, Spider-Man has touched every corner of entertainment, and this video is a reminder and celebration of that.

No real Easter eggs other than the fact that I used the number 60 as many times as possible (LOL). So I’ll leave you with this: With great power, there must also come great responsibility. Words to live by, and ever since I saw that first movie with Tobey Maguire in 2002, I’ve tried to do just that.

With that, Spider-Man’s Beyond Amazing 60th year comes to close. Face Front, True Believers, and I’ll see you in the Multiverse!
